Itinerary

Day 1- Arrive Toronto
As the arts, entertainment, and cultural center of Canada, Toronto offers visitors a plethora of memorable sights and experiences. Transfer by shuttle bus from the airport to your hotel in the heart of the city. The day is yours to get acquainted with Toronto on your own.

Your first must-do activity is riding to the top of CN Tower, the world's tallest free-standing structure with unparalleled views of the city and its outlying area. Be sure to visit Eaton Centre for shopping and dining, Chinatown, Old Town Toronto, and the city's many fascinating ethnic markets. Toronto is well-known for its nightlife. Enjoy your evening dining at a gourmet restaurant, sampling the fare at one of the city's smaller ethnic restaurants, or listening to some local music. Once the sun sets, the city comes alive with shows, clubs, and seasonal sporting events. Whatever your interests, there are sure to be many options from which to choose! Overnight in Toronto.

Day 2 - Touring Toronto
Today's sightseeing tour of Toronto takes you to the city's most loved landmarks as you travel the 12-mile route through the city's core, stopping at the sights that interest you most. Enjoy Toronto's impressive landmarks and unique shopping, and indulge in some fine dining before you embark on your cross-Canada train journey this evening, departing from Toronto's Union Station. Settle in to your onboard accommodations as the train begins its journey west. Overnight aboard the train.

Day 3 - VIA Rail Toronto to Vancouver
As you awake this morning, the train is nearing the small town of Gogama, Ontario. Head to the Dining Car for a hot breakfast before exploring the amenities on board the train. First-class passengers have access to all the lounges on board the train as well as to the Skyline Car - your entertainment center with an observation dome offering 360-degree views - and the Park Car with three different salons and an upper observation deck. Be sure to bring your camera as you explore the train to take advantage of the unique vantage points made available from the exclusive lounge cars. Overnight aboard the train.

Day 4 - VIA Rail Toronto to Vancouver
When you awake this morning, the train will be pulling into Winnipeg, the capital of Manitoba. Winnipeg was originally the hub of the Canadian fur trade as it was well-positioned at the junction of three important rivers. Today, this area known as The Forks is the downtown location for some of Winnipeg's exclusive restaurants, shopping, and live entertainment. You will have the opportunity to disembark and explore the town for a couple of hours before continuing your journey west.

This afternoon cross the Manitoba-Saskatchewan border, signaling the mid-point of your rail journey. The first important town you will come across is Melville, named after Charles Melville Hays, President of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railroad Company who died in the sinking of the Titanic in 1912. Spend the day chatting with your fellow travelers and enjoying exclusive access to first-class lounges, dining on superb meals, and delighting in impeccable service. Overnight aboard the train.

Day 5 - VIA Rail Toronto to Vancouver
Awake this morning in Alberta's capital city of Edmonton, often regarded as the gateway to the north because of the prominent location it played in fur trading, the Yukon gold rush, and the Alberta oil discoveries. Make the most of your last full day on the train, admiring the passing scenery, mountain towns, towering forests, and tranquil lakes from your private room or one of the train's observation decks.

This afternoon finds you in Jasper, located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies. Jasper National Park is a wildlife sanctuary, so be on the lookout for the elk and mule deer that are often seen wandering about. Late this afternoon, the train passes Mt. Robson and travels into British Columbia, the last province on your Canadian rail journey. This evening, enjoy your last sumptuous dinner aboard the train. Take in the stunning views from your table and reflect on your breathtaking voyage across five provinces. Overnight aboard the train.

Day 6 - Arrive Vancouver
Arrive in Vancouver, Canada's third largest city, a little after 9:30 am. Transfer by taxi (included) to your centrally-located hotel. Spend the day exploring this coastal city through a Hop On/Hop Off bus tour, the perfect way to see the city's most important sights. Must-see attractions include Stanley Park, the Vancouver Aquarium, English Bay Beach, Granville Island, Chinatown, the UBC Museum of Anthropology, and the Robson Street shopping district. Stroll the cobbled streets of Gastown, view some of the Olympic sites, and dine in one of the city's fantastic restaurants this evening. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 7 - Vancouver
Your Canada rail vacation comes to an end this morning. You may wish to extend your stay in Vancouver to fully explore the city and all its incredible sights. Or, return to the airport on your own with memories to last a lifetime.
