Tour Description

Explore the Canadian Rockies via rail, including a spectacular all-daylight trip from Vancouver to Jasper. Tour national parks, walk on glaciers, and cruise lakes. Begin your vacation with a night in Vancouver before departing on a sensational two-day journey aboard the Rocky Mountaineer. You will then explore Jasper National Park, Columbia Icefields, Lake Louise, and Banff National Park before your vacation comes to an end in Calgary.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Vancouver

Upon arriving into Vancouver, transfer independently to your hotel. Spend the day at leisure. Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 2 - Vancouver to Jasper

Board the Rocky Mountaineer for the famous all-daylight rail journey through the Canadian Rockies and British Columbia. This trip offers breathtaking vistas and informative commentary along the way. Meals are served onboard and hotel accommodation is provided mid-point in Kamloops. Overnight in Kamloops.

Day 3 - Jasper

Re-board the Rocky Mountaineer and continue your journey east to the mighty Canadian Rockies and the province of Alberta. Today’s highlights include Mount Robson, at 3,954 metres (12,972 feet) the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, Pyramid Falls, and the climb over the Yellowhead Pass into Jasper National Park. Your rail journey ends this evening on arrival in the resort town of Jasper. Overnight in Jasper.

Day 4 - Jasper to Lake Louise

Your tour today will encompass the ultimate glacier exploration with a visit to the Columbia lcefield for the Glacier Adventure and Glacier Skywalk. From walking on ancient ice, to standing on a glass­floored observation platform over a glacier-formed valley, today's experience will be sure to leave you in awe. Arrive in Lake Louise by late afternoon. Overnight in Lake Louise.

Day 5 - Lake Louise to Banff

Explore the stunning scenery of Lake Louise and Yoho National Park. Today's excursion presents glimpses of the natural forces and evolution of land that shape the appearance of the lakes and streams found in this area of the Rocky Mountains. Journey across the Great Divide and experience Yoho National Park before continuing to Banff. Overnight in Banff.

Day 6 - Banff

Today, visit Bow Falls, Surprise Corner and Tunnel Mountain on a morning excursion of Banff. Your tour is complimented by a gondola ride to the summit of Sulphur Mountain for spectacular views of the Bow Valley, Banff townsite and surrounding areas. Then take in more sights on a cruise on Banff National Park's largest lake - Lake Minnewanka. Overnight in Banff.

Days 7 - Banff to Calgary

A transfer to Calgary (included) concludes your vacation.
