ITINERARY:

Day One ~ Arrival in Vancouver

Upon arrival at the Vancouver International Airport, transfer independently, by scheduled airporter service, limousine or taxi to downtown Vancouver.

Day Two and Day Three ~ VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Vancouver to Jasper

Today is free to explore Vancouver. This evening board VIA Rail’s “Canadian” for your journey to Jasper (taxi transfer to rail station included). This experience with its award-winning service is luxury on rails. Points of interest will include Hell’s Gate (gorge), Suicide Rapids in the North Thompson Canyon, and the Cisco Tunnels above the Fraser River. Please note that dinner is not included onboard the train this evening.

Day Four ~ Arriving in Jasper

Today you will travel between the Monashee and Cariboo mountain ranges before ending your train journey in the resort town of Jasper. Breakfast and lunch is included onboard the train today. Upon arrival at the Jasper train station, a taxi will transfer you to your hotel (transfer included).

Day Five ~ Exploring Jasper

Experience Jasper National Park through the travels of the early explorers and view the unspoiled grandeur! This morning excursion will begin along the mighty Athabasca Canadian Heritage River, learning about David Thompson and the valley ecosystem. Travel above Maligne Canyon, with its narrow gorge and limestone walls created by 10,000 years of water flow. Visit a place of mystery and Indian legend en-route to Medicine Lake, where sometimes it actually disappears! On the adventure to Maligne Lake, the largest natural lake in the Canadian Rockies and one of the most photographed sites in the world, you are sure to see a variety of mountain wildlife.

Day Five to Day Seven ~ VIA Rail's 'Canadian' from Jasper to Toronto

Late this morning, transfer to the Jasper train station (transfer included) to board VIA Rail’s “Canadian”. This afternoon, depart the peaceful mountain town of Jasper on your westbound odyssey across the great Canadian plains and beyond. Your destination is Toronto, the economic center of Canada. Lunch and dinner are included this evening onboard the train. For the next two days, continue traveling across the Great Central Plains of Canada, through Winnipeg to the rugged forest and lake country to northern Ontario. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are included onboard the train each day.

Day Eight ~ Arriving in Toronto

Another leisurely morning onboard the “Canadian”. Breakfast is once again included onboard the train today. Upon arrival at Toronto’s Union Station this morning transfer to your selected hotel (transfer not included).

Day Nine ~ Departing Toronto

Your day is at leisure until your transfer to Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport for your ongoing or homeward flight (transfer not included). Transfers are available by scheduled motorcoach, limousine or taxi.
