ITINERARY:
Day One ~ Arrival in Halifax
Arrive at the Halifax International Airport or the VIA Rail station and pick up your rental vehicle (included). The remainder of the day is at leisure to explore Halifax. You may wish to visit Pier 21, which celebrates Canada's diversity and tells the story of Canada's immigrants (admission included). Overnight in Halifax.
Day Two ~ Halifax to Baddeck
Your journey to Cape Breton begins today with a scenic drive to Baddeck, located on St. Patrick's Channel. Overnight in Baddeck.
Day Three ~ Exploring Cape Breton
Today's travels take you to the Fortress of Louisbourg, one of Canada's largest National Historic Sites (admission included). Afterwards, wind your way back along the "Marconi Trail". Make a stop in Glace Bay, site of the first trans-Atlantic wireless message and take a tour of the Miner's Museum. Overnight in Baddeck.
Day Four ~ Exploring Cabot Trail
Enjoy a full day exploring the famed Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park. Proceed to the northern region of the Island, home to the famous Cabot Trail and Cape Breton Highlands National Park, one of Canada's most stunning and diverse national parks. Stop in the many coastal communities and hike in Highlands Park. Overnight in Baddeck.
Day Five ~ Baddeck to Halifax
The journey back to Halifax takes you along Bras d'Or Lake and the eastern shores on what is known as the Marine Drive. This route will take you through small coastal villages and along pristine shorelines. Make a stop in Sherbrooke Village, a restored 1860's shipbuilding and lumbering community. Your day concludes in Halifax.
Day Six ~ Exploring Peggy's Cove
This morning enjoy a whale watching cruise before departing for the charming community of Peggy's Cove with the lighthouse made famous in thousands of photographs. You may also wish to visit the quaint fishing village of Lunenberg. Return to Halifax for the night.
Day Seven ~ Tour Concludes in Halifax
A morning check out from your hotel and drive back to the Halifax International Airport or downtown if you plan on departing by train to conclude your Nova Scotia vacation.
