Extraordinary Places of the Rockies
8 Days/7 Nights
The Canadian Rockies is one of the most popular vacation destinations in Canada and for good reason - the scenery is spectacular, the wildlife is abundant and access is available for everyone. But some lesser-known places in the Rockies are just as extraordinary and are well-kept secrets. Each of these properties is unique for its location and that it is the only hotel or cabin property at that location. TOUR ALCEP

ITINERARY:
Day One ~ Calgary to Kananaskis
Upon arrival into Calgary, pick up your rental car (not included) and drive out to Kananaskis Country, located in the Rocky Mountains. Your two night stay will allow plenty of time to explore this lesser-known, but spectacular area. Overnight at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis.
Day Two ~ Exploring Kananaskis Country
Take the day to explore Peter Lougheed Provincial Park on your own. Some of the optional activities available in the area are hiking, golfing, white water rafting, horseback riding and spa services. You may also consider renting a bike to travel the many miles of paved trails in the area. Overnight at the Delta Lodge at Kananaskis.
Day Three ~ Kananaskis to the Columbia Icefield
Passing from the foothills, you will travel into Banff National Park and travel by Banff and Lake Louise before turning north onto the Icefields Parkway. Along the way to the Columbia Icefield you'll pass many glaciers, rivers and icy blue glacier-fed lakes. Stop for the night to stay in a Glacier View room at the Columbia Icefield Chalet.
Day Four ~ Columbia Icefield to Jasper National Park
Start your day with a unique Ice Explorer Glacier Excursion up onto the Athabasca Glacier, before continuing north to the resort town of Jasper. Passing through Jasper, continue on 30 minutes east until you reach Pocahontas Cabins, where you will stay in a log cabin for next two nights.
Day Five ~ Exploring Jasper
Your day is yours to either enjoy the mountain setting from your cabin or you may wish to venture out to explore Jasper National Park on your own. Included is admission to the Skytram up Whistler's Mountain and a boat cruise on Maligne Lake (both are located outside of the Jasper townsite).
Day Six ~ Jasper National Park to Emerald Lake
Returning back through Jasper, you will again travel down the Icefields Parkway on your way to Emerald Lake. Named for it's deep green color, it is favorite of travelers who want to get away to a more remote part of Banff National Park. Your next two nights will be at Emerald Lake Lodge, the only hotel located at the lake.
Day Seven ~ Exploring Lake Louise
Less than 20 minutes away is world famous Lake Louise. Take a walk by the lake, hike to the Teahouse or just tour around this scenic area to see Lake Louise, the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise and Moraine Lake. Included is a 2 hour horseback ride of the area.
Day Eight ~ Emerald Lake to Calgary
A short drive returns you to Calgary today to drop off your vehicle at the airport.
