ITINERARY:

Day One ~ Arrival in Vancouver

Arrive at the Vancouver International Airport and transfer by taxi to your hotel.

Day Two ~ Vancouver Touring and Rail to Jasper

Today's Hop On/Hop Off Trolley Tour gives you the opportunity to not only tour the downtown area, but get off any of the main attractions, such as Stanley Park, Vancouver Aquarium, Art Gallery, Granville Island or Gastown, to name a few. This evening transfer by taxi to the train station to board VIA Rail's "Canadian" train. Overnight in a private sleeper onboard VIA Rail.

Day Three ~ Arrival in Jasper

By the time you awake, you will see glaciers, mountain peaks and lush forests and the highlight will be travelling past Mount Robson, the highest mountain in the Canadian Rockies. The train is scheduled to arrive into the town of Jasper in the late afternoon. Overnight in Jasper.

Day Four ~ Exploring Jasper

Spend the day relaxing in this beautiful mountain setting. Start with a morning tour of the area to see Medicine Lake and Maligne Canyon. The remainder of the day is yours to explore on your own. Overnight in Jasper.

Days Five to Seven ~ Rail to Toronto (VIA Rail)

After a day at leisure, transfer in the evening on a scheduled service to Jasper's VIA Rail Station to board the "Canadian". Your next 3 days and 3 nights will be spent in onboard the train with all meals included in the dining car, access to a dome car, a lounge and showers. Enroute, you'll travel out of the Rocky Mountains, across the prairies and through the rugged hills of Northern Ontario. Overnight in a private sleeper onboard VIA Rail.

Day Eight ~ Arrival in Toronto (VIA Rail)

Your train will arrive in Toronto at approximately 9:30 am. Pick up your luggage and transfer to your hotel on you own. Overnight in Toronto.

Day Nine ~ Exploring Toronto

Explore Canada's largest city on a Hop On/Hop Off sightseeing tour that makes stops at such places as the CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame, Royal Ontario Museum, Casa Loma and Bata Shoe Museum. Overnight in Toronto.

Day Ten ~ Rail to Montreal

This morning, board VIA Rail for your 5.5 hour rail journey to historic Montreal. Relax in comfort VIA 1, the first class rail service that includes a meal and beverages during your trip. Overnight in Montreal.

Day Eleven ~ Exploring Montreal

This morning explore the city on a 3 hour tour of Montreal by tram. The afternoon is at leisure to continue sightseeing on your own, perhaps wandering through the cobblestone streets of Old Montreal and down to the St. Lawrence River. Overnight in Montreal.

Day Twelve ~Montreal to Quebec City

This morning travel on VIA Rail to historic Quebec City, North America's only walled city. Experience the charm of 'Old France' with winding cobblestone streets, quaint boutiques and world-class restaurants. Overnight in Quebec City.

Day Thirteen ~ Depart Quebec City

Begin your day with a 2 hour tour of Old Quebec City. Learn about the historical significance of these French-speaking area and see many amazing sights. Afterwards, take some time on your own to do some more exploring of the countless shops, museums and restaurants. Late in the evening, board VIA Rail's "Ocean" to experience the Sleeper Touring Class. Overnight onboard VIA Rail in a private sleeper compartment.

Day Fourteen ~ Arrival in Halifax

Enjoy a continental breakfast and lunch which is served onboard the train before arriving in Halifax in the late afternoon. Check into your hotel and take the rest of the evening to explore at your leisure. Overnight in Halifax.

Day Fifteen ~ Depart Halifax

A 2.5 city tour shows you the highlights of Halifax before transferring on your own from your hotel to the Halifax airport for your homeward or onward flight.
