Traveling from the Pacific Coast to mountain resorts and through four National Parks, this holiday offers spectacular views and amazing attractions. Linger in your favorite spots as you wind through the Canadian Rockies in your rental car.

Explore the beautiful, coastal city of Vancouver and get the lay of the land with a FlyOver Canada ride. Then set off on a beautiful drive to the alpine resort town of Sun Peaks, where you have an entire day to explore the area on your own. Next, head into the Rockies to explore lovely Lake Louise and stunning Banff National Park. Glaciers are next on the agenda as you take a leisurely drive along the Columbia Icefield and enjoy an Ice Explorer ride along the Athabasca Glacier. Top off your time in Banff with visits to hoodoos and a panoramic view of the area atop Sulphur Mountain before you wrap up your vacation in Calgary.

Itinerary

Day 1 - Vancouver
Upon arrival at the Vancouver International Airport, transfer independently to downtown Vancouver. This evening, visit Vancouver's newest attraction, FlyOver Canada. At its core, FlyOver Canada is a breathtaking, all-ages, flight simulation ride like no other! Overnight in Vancouver.

Day 2 - Vancouver to Sun Peaks
Pick up your rental car and depart the beautiful coastal city of Vancouver. As you travel east along our suggested route, cityscapes transition to pastoral farmland and lush valleys as the highway follows the Fraser River. A tram ride at Hell's Gate offers a chance to witness the power of water as it churns through the narrow gorge. Pass through Spence's Bridge and wind along the Thompson River through the dramatic desert scenery of British Columbia's cowboy country. The road climbs up from Kamloops through the Shuswap Highlands into the mountain region of Sun Peaks. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and enjoy an evening in the quaint mountain village of Sun Peaks. Choose from several cafes in the village for dinner and refreshments. Enjoy an evening stroll and keep your eye out for wildlife photo opportunities. Overnight in Sun Peaks.

Day 3 - Sun Peaks Exploring
Spend the day exploring Sun Peaks area at your leisure. There are many outdoor activities available. You may wish to take an off-road Segway tour, enjoy a hiking adventure or go horseback riding around the mountain. Overnight in Sun Peaks.

Day 4 - Sun Peaks to Banff
Continue your journey from Sun Peaks. Witness the landscape change from wide open skies to towering rugged peaks as you ascend into the Rocky Mountains, pass through the mountain town of Revelstoke and continue through to the untouched wilderness of Roger's Pass. Stand on the shores of Lake Louise surrounded by towering mountains, and take a quick stroll around the lake. Continue along the Bow Valley Parkway through the heart of Banff National Park. Overnight in Banff.

Day 5 - Columbia Icefield
On today's journey, drive your rental car north along the famous Icefields Parkway, one of the most spectacular highways in North America. Travel through Banff and Jasper National Parks and stop at the Columbia Icefield. Board a specially designed Ice Explorer and travel onto the icy slopes of the Athabasca Glacier. Only a few minutes from Athabasca Glacier is the Glacier Skywalk, Jasper National Park's newest attraction. Step out onto the glass-floored cliff-edge lookout for breathtaking views of the Sunwapta Valley. The return to Banff is once more along the Icefields Parkway. Overnight in Banff.

Day 6 - Banff to Calgary
This morning's suggested excursion travels through the town of Banff and its environs. Ascend Tunnel Mountain Drive to view Bow Falls and the hoodoos, followed by a visit to Lake Minnewanka and Two Jack Lake. Then take a ride on a gondola car to the top of Sulphur Mountain. Early in the afternoon, depart Banff and travel to Calgary to return your rental car.
