Famed for its skiing, Banff is quite literally a winter wonderland full of excitement and opportunity. On this thoughtfully-designed 4-day adventure, get a taste of just this. Enjoy free time to get acquainted with Banff’s charming downtown, which is complete with interesting shops and fantastic eateries, and planned tours that allow you to learn more about the rugged landscape and the local wildlife. This renowned mountain town has so much to offer, come and see for yourself.

Day 1 – Arrive Banff
Arrive in Banff using your own means, and transfer independently to your hotel. While just 1 1/2 hours outside of Calgary, this mountainous town feels like a whole other world. Spend the rest of the day at leisure enjoying the amenities within your hotel, or get out and explore some of the town’s offerings. Take a sleigh ride through the meadows, capture photos of the surrounding mountain peaks or check out Downtown’s phenomenal shopping and dining options. Overnight in Banff.

Day 2 – Discover Banff & Its Wildlife Tour
Banff is home to an array of winter wildlife, including big-horned sheep, moose, elk and more. See these animals in their natural habitats, and learn about their adaptations that allow them to survive Banff’s winter months on today’s tour. Moving through the region with a small group, take in the beautiful sites, including Bow Falls, Hoodoos Lookout and several other scenic and historic points. Hot chocolate and a light snack are provided during the 3-hour tour, as are the use of binoculars and a spotting scope. All admissions and transfers are also included, for convenience. After the tour, return to Banff for an evening of relaxation. Overnight in Banff.

Day 3 – Johnston Canyon Ice Walk
The rugged beauty of Johnston Canyon awaits on today’s excursion. You will be picked up from your hotel and taken along Bow Valley Parkway to the trailhead for an exciting tour that lasts approximately 4 hours. With the help of a certified guide, you move along the frozen lower waterfalls, through a cave and up to the stunning beauty of Johnston Canyon’s upper falls. While these waterfalls are a sight to behold in the warmer months, the frozen sculptures cascading down the cliffs are truly breathtaking in the winter. Snowy pine trees frame the landscape, and views of the gorge complete the picturesque setting. Safety is of the utmost importance, and as such, ice cleats and hiking poles are provided. Enjoy a snack of hot chocolate and maple cookies before you are transferred back to your hotel. The rest of the day is yours to do as you please. Overnight in Banff.

Day 4 – Depart Banff
This morning, your Banff expedition comes to a close. Upon checking out off your hotel, say goodbye to the town you have learned so much about in such a short period of time, and head to the airport for your flight home.
